Jazz pianist Jim Steele is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and has performed extensively around northeast Indiana. He has also made appearances in Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, Washington D.C., and New York City, at the legendary Blue Note jazz club in Manhattan. Steele plays a wide range of jazz, from straight ahead bop and standards to modern jazz, jazz fusion, and his own original material. He performs as a solo pianist, in ensemble and big band settings, and has worked with artists such as Richie Cole, Ernie Watts, and John Goodsall of Brand X. He has recorded both as leader and sideman, including his own CDs "Who's There?" and "Neptune Rising". His music has received glowing reviews in national publications Option (Los Angeles) and Progression (Lowell, MA).
